Bullets From Canada

Has anyone had any experience having bullets mailed from Canada to US? I lucked up and found a box of 250 Berger .308 215 Hybrids and bought them. The shop is holding them for me but now I have to figure out how to get them to me. I have a buddy in Canada that I can have them shipped to in the mean time, and I will be in Canada in a couple months but I was hoping to have them shipped to me now. I keep finding mixed info on if it is allowed or not.

I'm pretty sure I've heard any trouble you might get into will be from your side of the border. Maybe your friend will be sending you some "lead weights" for fishing.

I’m not even sure what trouble that would be. I’d try it if I thought that the worst would be that it was denied and returned to sender.

If you are just talking bullets and not complete rounds just ship them, I don't know of any import restrictions on components. If you are importing actual ammo and the value is over $100 you are supposed to file a form 6.

No export restrictions Canada to U.S. (huge restriction in reverse).
Just have your buddy box them up and ship them.
I am surprised that the shop sold them to you, as most retailers up here are very clear that they do not sell to U.S. customers in order to allow the low supply to meet local demand first.
