With your 6.5-300, I’d stick with a bonded or mono. Often times shots are taken much closer than we gear up for.

For fun one day, I shot my 6.5 with the 140 Nosler CC which has a fairly high BC and 140 Nosler Partition which does not. With the same velocity, both rounds hit 10” steel plate at 600 yards with zero elevation change in the scope. I don’t know where the higher BC comes into play, but its likely beyond my ability to make a good shot.

My .02 cents...
I've run all the bullets mentioned in different calibers. I've had the best accuracy and fastest kills with the Hornady. The tiny group awrd goes to the Berger but for general purpose and overall accuracy, its still Hornady for me.

Resurrection of this Summer thread.

We took a cow this year with a .30 cal. 212 ELDX with a MV of 2850. 370 yards broadside, entered between heart and lungs, exited slightly higher on the opposite side breaking the back side of the front shoulder blade. Exit diameter less than 2”, no bullet recovery. Very little bloodshot and no bone shrapnel. Vitals were Jello. Happy with the performance.
