These are all interesting conversations. My dad gave me a 270 Win as my first gun about 30 years ago. I shot a ton of deer with it but had quite a few get knocked down and then jump back up and run off. Some of them got away from me and others, I was able to track down. I got frustrated by this and then got a 300 H&H. I also started using Nosler Ballistic Tips at the same time I got the new gun and as mentioned before, only one animal that I have shot out of about 25-30 has taken more than one bullet. At the time, I blamed the wounded animals on the 270, but now I am thinking it was bad/wrong bullets. It has been so long ago that I don't know what I was shooting, but the 270 was blowing right through the animal and not putting much of a hole in them. And, if I were to hit a bone, it was an absolute mess.
So, I am strongly considering the Accubonds and I am using them (factory loads) right now to break the rifle in. I have a ton of Ballistic Tips already from years of reloading my last H&H. I will just shoot both and see which one my rifle likes better.
