I'm in the market for a new setup. I've been shooting a Mathews Switchback with the wrong DL for years, and am finally ready to buy something new. I'm buying an Elite Synergy, but I have no idea what accessories to put on. I prefer single pin adjustable sights. I'm assuming that tight spot is the way to go for the quiver, but would like some input on the new rests and single pin adjustable sights. I'd also like to know why you chose the accessories that you did.

Spot Hogg, HHA, Black Gold, QAD, B-stinger, etc...?

Also, I'm not interested in the great Mathews vs. Hoyt vs. Bowtech vs. Elite vs. Athens debate. I've shot all of them, and the Elite shot the best for me. :D

First off, congrats on the Elite. Best hunting bows on the market IMHO.

For a rest I would hands down recommend the Ace from Ripcord. Full containment, Micro adjust, life time warranty, and made in MT. Not much to not love. The launcher arm can be cocked up for full containment and will stay upright even if you let the bow down (like a QAD).

I would normally recomend the MBG Ascent but I have had some serious problems with noise on them lately. They like to buzz. Switched the Spot Hogg this year and will never look back. If you wanted to go the single pin route I really like the new fast eddie. Its a single pin with a second reference mark on the pin which is generally a 20 yard gap. We recently built a Tommy Hogg with a fast eddie head and it was incredible! I may be ordering one for myself soon.

The ace is a great rest for sure. I have the mbg ascent 5 pin and am pretty happy with it. I have had to retighten a few screws after a few hundred shots but I'm leaning toward me not getting them tight enough in the first place. Mbg is a great MT company with good service on top of it.

I have had nothing but good luck and great service from MBG. Nothing ever broke just me changing stuff around on the sights. I personally believe you should use a limb driven rest on any binary cam bow. Even the amount of pressure it takes to activate a cable driven rest is too much and the cables will not be equal tension exactly. I have had great success with trophy taker

I guess I should tell my E32 with a cable driven rest to quit bombing Bh's at 80 then, lol.

All kidding aside, Dover brings up a good point that any cable driven rest on ANY bow must be timed correctly. Though, if you find someone who knows what there doing its not a big enough deal that I would feel I need a limb driver.

Anyone care to go into the difference between the spot hogg boss hogg and the tommy hogg? I'm also considering the hogg father, but I don't know if I really need the dovetail for a hunting bow, or do I?

Really liking the looks of the 2016 Elite Impulse 34. Anyone shot them yet? I'm a lefty, so I won't get to shoot one for a while, as most bow manufacturers think all archers are right handed....

I'm a lefty too, except with a 32 1/2" draw. Those bows don't ever seem to make it to shop racks, so shooting a bunch of bows is never an option for me.

I will second or third or wherever we are Spot Hogg. I have a BG sight and have had a couple others in the past, and they do buzz. The best one I have is one of their older models without any bells or whistles to buzz. They have great CS, but so does SH. I've been using my SH Hogg-it Hunter 7-pin with wrap now for 5 years straight without even a hint of a problem. Tightspot quiver never comes off my bow once the season starts. 10" B-stinger and a QAD HDx rest finishes it out.

I'm a gear junky and I test a LOT of stuff every year. So I use what I use because it's the best I can find for me and my purposes. I'm also very hard on equipment, so I want durable as well as functional.

The biggest difference in the Tommy Hogg and Boss Hogg is the dial placement. Tommy has a front dial and Boss has a rear dial. For hunting I would choose the Tommy Hogg since it will allow you to use the Tightspot quiver and does not need an adapter. The Boss Hogg needs an adapter for the Tightspot quiver.

The biggest disadvantage in my opinion to the Hogg Father is that it puts so much weight out in front of your bow. The next thing for me is I am terrified of hitting the sight when it is extended out that far. Spot Hogg's are tough though. I have bruised several, but never broken one where it was unusable.

I would throw out a recommendation for an Axcel Accutouch for a sight. I have been shooting one this year for hunting and it has been bombproof and exceptional. I like the moveable Accuclicks for references. I'm not a big Spot Hogg moveable pin sight guy because they seem so darn heavy. I hunt with a guy that is using the Tommy Hogg, and the Accutouch weighs quite a bit less. And the sight marks on the inside of the Accutouch are much easier to read in a hunting situation. Just my 2 cents.

My Nitrum Turbo has-

QAD HDX rest,
MGB Pure Gold Driven 75 (single pin adjustable=badass sight)
Tightspot 5 arrow quiver
Stokerized SS1 offset stabilizer

I like, but more importantly trust everything on that bow. Including the new arrows (Injexion FMJ's)

Good luck, let us know what you choose!

My squeaky Elite 32 (although I do love my bow) has a QAD rest, 8 inch B-Stinger, and a MBG Ascent...I did have a Trophy Taker Smackdown on it but after the second one broke on me it was time to switch. For some reason the spring in the arm broke and my archery shop could not figure it out, sent each of them back. Good luck in your decisions, fun times ahead for sure.

Put a little olive/avocado oil on your cable rod and then work the slide back over it. The Elite slides like to squeak on their ProKote.

I shot a 70 lb Impulse 34 last weekend. First time shooting an Elite, so nothing else to judge against, but it was very nice. Draw was smooth, especially for a 70 lber with my back tension release, but the bow was dead on the shot and aimed exceptionally well. It is on my short list for a new bow. Also shot a 60 lb PSE Decree HD that is right there on the short list as well. I liked the draw of the Decree HD better, but just a touch more vibration on the shot. Tough decision. I am looking to shoot an Xpedition next to compare it, heard great things about their bows.
