Gear fairy is here, that time of year.

Trying to fine-tune preparations and needing some input...

I hate that stupid paracord bugle tube sling. Why even bother? When I first learned to call elk, I sounded like a crippled rooster and I needed the deeply resonant tubes to even have a chance. Now I kinda-sorta know what I am doing and what real elk sound like, so I’ve downsized back to a basic vacuum sized tube.

When I was packing the elk tuba, I could never find a good way to carry it. I would jam it securely in my pack, but then lose motivation to ever use it. I made it more accessible, and quickly donated one to the mountains of Idaho. God forbid I use the highly engineered paracord sling whilst trying to make a 101 yard shot with my imperfect form wearing my tacticool bino harness and and all the other accessories. Can’t imagine what could go wrong there! Anyway...

I got to thinking tonight…Boy, it would be great to somehow lash this thing to my bow. Anyone done it? I am going to screw around with it tomorrow but just trying to get in front of some ideas. Should I be looking to lash it, or go with a mounting bracket? Anyone done this?

Just a quick thought, but may be a magnet system. My first idea was to the quiver, but the idea of more weight on that side was a bad idea. The other side would actually counteract the quiver weight.

Not bow mounted, but my brother would slide his into the rifle sleeve on his rambler. Worked very well for easy access but also having it out of the way.

Good luck figuring out something that works for you.

Paracord has always worked for me. Sticking it on your bow some how is an interesting idea though. I'd be interested in seeing your photos if you come up with something. Good Luck!

I tried, couldn't really come up with anything. It was a decent beer-fueled idea, but paracord it will be again it seems.
