I really like the vortex viper 2-7X32. You can get them from Doug at cameralandny.com for $199, they retail for $360. Great little scopes and a great warranty. Hard to beat them especially at that price.
Also have a look at the Redfield Revolution scopes, they are made by Leupold, have the same fantastic warranty as Leupold scopes, and the 3-9x40 is $200. Have a look at this site, great customer service. http://www.bearbasin.com/redfield-scopes.htm
Luke's recommendation is spot-on. I have that little Viper, and it is probably the best value scope I have ever used. The Diamondback series from Vortex is also very good. Redfields are also a nice option, as recommended.
However, right now, there are several Sightron S2 Big Sky models at SWFA.com on clearance, that after rebate will get you a $600 scope for $250. Check that out.
I also have the Viper on my son's rifle. Very nice scope for the money, best warranty in business. Get a hold of Elknut for a great Deal on all Vortex optics.
The Redfield Revolution is a great USA made scope! I think the glass is great. I have gad one on a 30-06 for over a year and have nothing but great things to say. Burris FFII is another option.
