What’s the consensus, bucks starting to move this weekend?

I’ve only seen a forked horn on the prowl so far… feels like deer counts are down mid coastal range but what do I know.

Weather is sure shaping up for decent hunting.

I think its about to get goin. Mountains look socked in and its starting to rain a lil. Sposed to rain most the weekend.

Hammered it hard today. 12 miles in mixed terrain (clear cuts, logging roads, game trails in NF, game trails in dark timber in logging land). Only saw a few does (5) throughout the day. Nothing was out in the open at first light in the rain/wind. Bumped a few does while walking up to clear cut opening in the timber. Spotted one doe on a bench of the clear cut when the rain stopped for 30-45 mins and it got sunny before the next onslaught. Minimal fresh Buck sign and tracks throughout the day. A few rubs located here and there.

Not sure where you’re at on mid coast, but I’m normally out of Philomath area in the Alsea unit. The activity I mentioned above was down by Yoncalla. Hopefully tomorrow pans out after the storm breaks up a bit. Watch out for all the deadfall’s from this last wind.

They have been ramping up on activity for sure, and have seen more 1.5yr old bucks this year than I can remember. I started around the 10th of the month, and have for sure seen at least 20 little bucks that were spikes or forks, and have been bouncing around to a lot of areas, same scenario everywhere, which is encouraging

Have only seen 2 bucks that were 3.5yrs+ with does so far, it’s not like there is a mature buck around every pocket of does, but they are gaining interest and moving better
