I have (and love) a pair of Mudder Boots that I use for duck hunting in the SC Lowcountry (as mentioned in this thread - https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/mudder-boots-for-waterfowl-hunting.297141/).

The boots are cinched down by 1" webbing that uses a simple buckle. (See pics below.) This is pretty robust, but it's not easy to put the boots on or take them off with cold, wet and grimy hands. I reached out to the company to see if they have considered other options, and they replied very quickly and mentioned they have considered other options, but something that works in muddy conditions is tough, and asked me for suggestions. I'm not an expert, but based only on a quick search I thought a G-Hook might be a solution to more easily make the connection and still allow you to cinch it down.

Anyone have any better ideas? I did order some G-hooks to try myself.

That hole just goes over a post or peg or something and holds in place?
Nope. The hole isn't used. That second picture is with the buckle not attached. The first picture is with the webbing (seen in between my second and third fingers in the 2nd picture) threaded through the buckle.
