Anyone shooting one of these? Found one locally in 300wm, which is pretty rare for where I’m located. It’s $2k.

Anyone have background shooting these? Would love to hear your experience with it. My use case is western hunting, primarily elk.

Thank you

They are tack drivers. My buddy and I each bought one last year and they've been great. His has the McMillan stock, and mine doesn't. I wish I would've gotten the McMillan, they are great stocks, but like you said, they are hard to find. Mine shot Hornady like crap, but it's a half moa gun with 215 bergers. I've brought mine out to a mile, with second and third round impacts, and shoot regularly at 600-1000 with it. Buy a $13 mcarbo spring, and swap it out with the factory one. It's a 5 min job that's well worth doing.

Buy it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Bought one when they first came out in 2017, 28 Nosler. Super easy load dev with the 180 Bergers or 180 ELDM, Rl33, H1000, and currently using LRT, all have worked well.

Current load is LRT with a 180 Hybrid.

They are accurate. I have been using a standard stock hells canyon long range hunter 300 wM since 2018. It is 3/4 moa with factory Hornady eld-x.

What scope are you using? Curious how big of a scope to grab with the guns ability to shoot and where I’d like to get working with it.

I have one in 6.5 prc and a 300 wsm non-McMillan version. These things can shoot. Both are 5/8” groups at 100. My 300 I did a custom load through Unknown and the 6.5 I shoot ELDM’s. Shoot with a group of 5 guys regularly, all with Hells Canyons and everyone is 1/2-5/8.
I’m honest when I say that I’ll never buy another rifle. I just want to hydro dip the stock in Kuiu Verde so I don’t have 5 rifles that look the same. I’d love to see another gun shoot as well as these out of the box.

I ordered this stock directly from McMillan has an adjustable comb, My son and I share this rifle when we hunt he has a different cheek weld than I do

I have a .300 win mag HCLR with the regular stock. It's great hunting rifle, very accurate, smooth action, etc. Only thing I'd change is upgrading to the Mcmillan stock.

I have one in 300PRC, and It's sub MOA for sure. The only gripe I have is it doesn't hang on my shoulder very well when slung... I don't know if it is the 26" barrel combined with the heavy scope I have on it, but I'll play around with it to get it a little more satisfactory.

Both my standard X-bolts outshoot my custom.
Both very easy to load for and always shoot well... not just occasionally.

What did McMillan charge you?
I want to say right around 800 bucks, I can’t find the order form. But you can call them up and talk to a real person and they will go over all the different options, the cost associated, and if it may increase the lead time or not.

Well, I am actually wanting one of these first for a Predator Hunter A-TACS AU 6.5 Creedmoor

Then I will order the McMillan for the X-Bolt Hells Canyon Max Long Range 6.5 Creedmoor

OP, I have had a variety of X-Bolt rifles, from 223 to 300 WSM and I have yet to have one that wouldn't shoot some factory ammo into small groups. Most with results like these:
