Hello,

I love this rifle but am left handed and they do not make it in left handed. Should I purchase it anyway? Any serious downsides of shooting a right handed bolt action besides the obvious? Is there a different lr bolt action that you would suggest instead?

I'm a left handed shooter and grew up shooting right handed bolt actions. The cycling of a right handed gun was completely comfortable to me until I bought a left handed gun, now the right handed bolt is awkward. The only other downside I'm aware of is the potential for shrapnel from a malfunction is more likely to hit your face if your shooting a right handed gun left handed. That is unlikely though.

Tikka, Ruger, savage all make left handed guns. I have a t3x that is very high quality feeling and a Ruger American that is much cheaper feeling but still very accurate and easy shooting.

I know a lot of people shoot opposite hand rifles, and have been doing so for a long time. The largest deficiency in my opinion is the ejection port is right in front of your face in the event of a catastrophic failure.

The newer HC/Speed series of xbolts are awesome rifles, it's a shame they don't have more LH offerings beyond their standard hunter lines.
