Brown Bear on Afognak island

Anyone have any experience around Afognak lake on Afognak island for brown bears in the fall?

That area is mostly owned by a native Corp so make sure you have the right access permissions etc. Afognak is thickly timbered, but lots of big bears there.

Thanks. Have you ever been in that area in late October. Are there any fish sill running?

Haven’t been in that area that late in the year. Depending on the year Silvers will still be in the streams. Bears will still be around, but I wouldn’t rely on them being on the river once the season starts.
