We compiled a video from four years of hunting big bears in Saskatchewan. Let me know what you think and if you have questions. We head up for trip number five later this month.
Is there a particular broadhead weight you prefer with a compound setup for bear? I noticed you mentioned the vented 125 grain with the arrow that went through and into the tree.
I like our wide heads for bears but any of the weights do really well. I do really like our Wide125. The vents are smaller than our Wide100 making it stronger, yet still more forgiving than our wide solid, and I shoot it well at long range personally. I have shot our Wide150 a lot too, which has a solid blade and is a great choice for bears too, since shots won't be long distance.
Just bought some of the 150 wides to try out with bears in mind. If it flies well, I will keep 1 in my quiver for closer shots on elk and deer too. I am hoping for blood trails like mechanicals with the reliability and penetration of a fixed.
