I have a basic takedown setup from RMSG: 35lb Fleetwood, victory force .245 sport 600 arrows and am looking need to get broadheads and a quiver for spring turkey.

My goal is to shoot a 45lb recurve, since I’m just getting started with a trad bow I’m starting low.

BROADHEADS
- for turkey with my compound I’m using 100g PhatHead feather dusters
- I’m reading with a trad bow the best broadhead weight is the one that shoots best with your bow.
- what broadhead and weight do you recommend for my set-up?

QUIVER
- I want a bolt on quiver
- it looks like selway flex quiver is the way to go
- any less expensive suggestions?

Get a test kit form 3 Rivers and see which tip weight groups and tunes the best. You can also adjust arrow length and insert weight to adjust tune.

I was a little interested in this thread as well mainly due to the Broadhead question for turkeys. I agree to shoot the weight that tunes your arrow to your bow. I went with heavier insets so I could still portentously get into some heads in the 125 gr range. I’ve always heard it’s best to shoot a turkey and the arrow stay in them, throwing off their balance and make it harder to fly away. Most traditional heads (145 gr and heavier I’m taking) are usually COC and going to zip right through. Any options other than a less sharp of a head?

Im shooting the 200 gr RMS Cutthroats and Victory 3 blades this year for turkey.
You wont be disappointed with a Selway. Great people and great product. I have two slide on, and one of the new bolt mounted ones.

VPA Turkey spur

The only turkey I killed was with a cutthroat, worked well but on a turkey i don’t know if broadhead design is a big deal as long as it’s sharp. As for quivers first figure how many arrows you want to carry, ive shot a few different brands over the years i keep going back to great northern. And with those my favorite model is a strap on it’s super adjust can fit on almost any bow. The rubber straps seem to cut a little noise and vibration too at least to me. just don’t set Your quiver past the fade outs on your limbs, the close to the riser you get it the quieter and better it will shoot. let the working part of the limb go to work, and have fun

For selway Quiver does anyone have the
SELWAY BOLT-ON QUIVER TAKE-DOWN RECURVE QUIVER
Or
Selway Rawhide Flex-Quiver?

Just got the flex. It is a sweet design, my favorite so far, and I'm fairly new to the trad side of things. If you have questions, call Drew or anyone at Selway. They are great people that will point your in the right direction.

I have two quivers. Great Northern limb bolt bolt-on that comes off super easy , hold arrows great and is quite. On another bow a Thunderhorn Linx that is a strap-on and works great too.

I REALLY like the creek walker quiver. It'll cover the biggest heads, looks great, super quiet and I don't have to unload it to remove it. This is a 2 piece bow and you can't ask for a better backcountry setup. 20200223_100232.jpg20200218_164844.jpg

Talked to RMSG yesterday . They were saying the link bolts on a fleetwood are too close together and the arrows would splay really wide making them a hassle when hunting.

they suggested the thunder horn boa strap on. I can get a plastic one for $60. Leather looks nicer but I plan on getting a different bow in a couple of years

On a one piece it's a fantastic choice. It does offer a wider spacing for feathers than the CW, but neither are crowded. Screenshot_20200303-140459_Gallery.jpg

20190909_155509.jpg20190909_172913.jpgmy stalker runs the GN kickback. I like the kickback feature and the quick release of the quiver. The hood is a bit smaller and I struggled with some heads, but GN reached out to me and offered a updated foam that helped a lot. Great customer service, great product....and they look great too.

I would have zero issues suggesting any of the products I have. It really boils down to what you WANT and can afford. 20190909_155509.jpg20190909_172913.jpg
