Hey folks two questions.

I'm shooting VPA 3 blade 125s on a full length axis 300 with a 100 grain insert, 630 grains total.

1. I'm getting a good group with broadhead and field points but the broadhead is a touch nock low. Bare shafts grouped well. Leave it of it groups well?

2. I'd like to align the broadheads with the fletchings so I can split my target with the blade, any tricks to get a screw in head alignment slightly different?

I use hot melt for my inserts so that if I want I can heat it up and rotate the insert to change the broadhead configuration.
I do too, although I've been adding aluminum shaft pieces as an outsert with super glue.

Do you notice the thread pattern is pretty consistent across broadheads or do you end up matching each broad head to an arrow?

I usually end up matching each one individually

I glue the inserts and broadheads to the bare shafts and make sure they spin perfectly. Once that’s done, its an easy thing to orient them to the fletchings.

For mounting points and inserts, I use JB Weld. I only use hot melt on Alumnium or Wood Shafts. No Hot Melt on Carbon Shafts…

Man, I've got a 31" draw shooting 300gr up front and I don't even shoot 300 spines. That just seems like an awfully stiff setup unless you're drawing high poundage at a long DL.

Hey bisblue, just trying to help, but you may get better flight with a weaker shaft. I asked what inserts you were using cause unless they were 450gr inserts I have a hard time seeing how your set up works. As we all know, there is lots if trial and error in this wonderful hobby.

No worries, I'm shooting low 50s with 235 up front full length shafts, 30+ inch draw.

These bare shaft really well. I can also tune a 340 full length with less weight up front that bare shafts well

I might throw a broadhead on my 340s see what it does.

I've got about a 40 yd point on distance with the 340s and I can get that down to 33 with the 300s.

Elk season starts August 30th at my house so need to get it sorted out
