Affiliate program user “steals thunder” for special order rifle being sold almost exclusively to RokSlide members under a slow burn process at a fantastic price = Upper management sees downtick in incoming revenue under jake’s specific RokSlide metric, jake’s thoughts, ideas, and negotiating powers for RokSlide specials decrease. = No more RokSlide sponsorship, No more RokSlide coupon codes, No more killer deals if a member messages me, no more chances at special buy items before the general public gets to them, The only presence EuroOptic has is a couple FNG’s spamming affiliate links for full priced items with no information on how, why, when, or what the items truly are.

He started spamming links before the rifles were supposed to be up on the website, they needed new photos and a new description / title wrote. Our bad.
I literally called him personally to tell him the rifle he purchased off us didn’t match the rifle on the listing, and explained the what, why, and where changes were made. Then it’s a race for me to get new photos because he’s already blowing the link all over the 7 seas to make a buck off of a product that hasn’t been on the market in years, let alone for this price - he knew they would be gone in a few days, he knew that I was already tactfully offering them, and in my opinion he ruined that intentionally in a smash and grab operation.

I have no hard feelings about the affiliate program that the marketing team is messing with.
Do I personally think it’s pretty useless and only creates problems? Yes.
Is it a good thing when used for its intended purpose of content creators getting a kickback for creating media like videos, blog posts, and podcasts and referencing the product? Yes.

I don’t think it was designed to take a rifle that was sold to a brand new member of a forum and then have that person spam affiliate links all over sites that EuroOptic salesmen already have a presence on with no additional content or media, while piggybacking off the info I post.

I dont doubt that, but someone innocently posted a deal in the deal thread (as one should), and a forum sponsor is up his slacks about it. Whole thing is weird, im not interested in the details of the drama. Calling a spade a spade.

Jake already had a thread about the deal posted several days prior to this thread. This guy comes on the site and posts an "affiliate link" (a new thing Eurooptic's management is trying to roll out) to the same thing Jake is promoting in addition, he posts the link in Jake's thread. OP is promoting sales of non personally owned items without being a site sponsor. This against the rules we all agree to when signing up for the site. Jake calls him out on it and you think he's the bad guy? You're yappin about stuff you have no clue about. If people don't want to follow site rules and protocol, that's fine. Don't cry when your posts get deleted/edited, your account gets banned, or you get an IP ban and can't even visit the site.
