Braggin Board for Fishing!

Just got this 5.8lber yesterday throwing around a big 7 inch swimbait. I was at it for 3 days before I finally got a big one!

In April 2021 my wife and I went down to Charlotte’s Harbor (Punta Gorda FL) tarpon fishing. Always wanted to battle one and that we did! We landed 3 including this beast that was about 80”x40” which puts it in that 180-190# class. We took turns fighting him for nearly 2 hours and he took me around the boat a dozen times! Incredible power. I had a tennis ball sized welt on my inner thigh/groin area from the rod handle digging in there. My wife also caught a Cobia which we kept and ate that night. Probably the best tasting fish I’ve ever had right there! I’d like to do a trip for Cobia now!

SWEET!! Tarpon on a fly rod (along with steelhead), is definitely one of my favorite species to fish for. Never caught one anywhere near that size though.

SWEET!! Tarpon on a fly rod (along with steelhead), is definitely one of my favorite species to fish for. Never caught one anywhere near that size though.

Tough to beat tarpon and steelhead. I like bonefish too though, especially when bigger ones are around.

Thats a hake or haddock - think like a codfish, N Atlantic. White and flakey meat.

Finally got the chance to get out with my daughter. She saw crickets in bait shop so that’s what she wanted us to use . My lease has a big strip pit on it with nice bass and big gills, maybe hybrids??

That’s a haddock we are fishing off the coast of New Hampshire about 30 miles out. We ended the day with about 60 lbs of fillets between the 6 of us, we got a good bunch of haddock and cusk and some reds.

Some monster specs this weekend. All were revived and sent on their way. Ended the weekend with lots of smaller fillets and lots of released big girls on plastics.
