It's been a good year. Got my PB Northern Pike, several 3 and 4 lb large mouth, a few 3 lbs small mouth, and buckets full of 12-13 inch crappie, not to mention a number of large knot headed bluegill.
 
Monster summer.

Second-best eating fish, imo. Spring chinook is #1, but not by much. Cabezon fish & chips is #3.

Agree, we ate summer one night and springer the next a few days ago trying to figure out what is better, and you are right, springer has the edge, but not by much
 
Friend invited the wife and I out for a couple of days of halibut fishing earlier this week. The weather cooperated and we limited out on both days and slayed the cod as well. Managed to stock the freezer with some superb fillets. We fished out of Deep Creek, Alaska.
My friend knows these waters well and got us on the fish fast. Plus he has a first class boat and is a stand up guy. That is my bride in one of the photos
