Daughter caught her first limit of rockfish fish all by her self on father's day. Proud dad moment.

We had another great week in Seward and Homer. Stayed at our airbnb, looking forward to spending 3 weeks up there next year. Seems we were in between sockeye runs in Seward as that was pretty slow, but the day we got out with my buddy halibut fishing was great, came home with 4 fish boxes which should last us until next year.

There was a terrible crash south of anchorage that shut the highway down for 6 hours so we missed our flight and had to do some juggling, but even with a 5 and 2 year old in tow they did pretty well.

Redfish are fantastic eating many different ways. Blackened redfish is a signature dish that is pretty famous around the Gulf coast. Or you can grill it on the "half shell". You can also smoke it, bake it, pan fry so many different options. Just take care when cleaning to remove blood line etc. and you are good to go. Delicious fish in my opinion.

After 4 years of waiting I was finally able to make the trek to Christmas Island (Kiritimati). I spent two days fishing in Oahu before heading down. Weather wasn’t perfect but it was still incredible. Between both locations I caught 13 species of fish. 12 of which I had never caught before. Several bones that would have been my PB prior to this trip. Did get hooked up with a 40+ pound GT on the last day but put a little too much heat on him and pulled the hook before we could get our hands on him.

Those are awesome bone fish, I’m headed south tomorrow afternoon to go after bones, permits and tarpon.
