Bradley Cheek rest experience?

I’ve seen a few guys mention these, and seen some pics but haven’t seen a good review of them.

I recently put a set of Sportsmatch and a set of Hawkins direct mount rings on two Tikkas I have. One with a SWFA 3-9, the other an ATACR 4-16x42. I love these rifles and I think the direct mount rings are going to be solid. But, I can tell I still need a higher cheek piece

I have some KRG chassis and they are great, but a bit heavy to hump up the mountains day after day. and I’ve made my own in the past but they weren’t great

Looking at the Bradley I like that it’s removable, adjustable, and fairly light weight. My main question is: with two layers of kydex and some foam, does it push your face too far out to the side of the rifle to be comfortable?

I need about 1-1.5” of rise.

Thanks in advance!

I can’t speak of the Bradley but I’d just drill a couple holes and slap on a kydex saddle. I ended up with a Mathews fabrication cheek piece on mine and really like it, allows me to angle it for a negative comb and gets me all the height I need

If it was a higher dollar stock I’d have a hard time but a tikka plastic stock I’m taking the drill to it

The saddle I got, the Mathews is fit based on stock dimensions, it does not feel too wide, actually prefer the feel over the sharper tikka cheek area

True... I looked into that style. No doubt they’d be solid. The cool thing about the Bradley is it’s not permanent

Another ‘not permanent’ option for increasing comb height is the Triad Tac Stock Pack. They come with strips to build it up, or I’ve cut up foam sleeping pads for additional height.

I have a few of them and really like them.

i've been using a Bradley for a couple of years. It is money $$$$ - I love it. I can swap on my rifles as well. Not cheap but well worth it to get a great cheek weld.

I got one a few months ago to get my cheek up a little higher on my Ridgeline and fix an inconsistent cheek weld issue. I love it. It's easy to take off when cleaning the rifle and very easy to put back on the same place. It's rock solid too. I had to get in to the habit of laying the full weight of my head onto the rest to remove the scope shadow and I've never had it bend or give at all. If given the option to go back I would definitely buy it again.

I have been using the triad stock pack for years and recently purchased a Bradley to try on my new seekins ph2. Both options are great, the triad weights slightly less and I like the soft squishy feel of the triad. And if you get in an out of position spot the squish of the triad can help make small adjustment to get a good cheekweld. Also the triad can make smaller adjustments than the Bradley, granted you could also add shims under the Bradley to accomplish the same thing.

I like both and will continue to use the Bradley to make a more informed decision between the 2 since I don’t have much time on the Bradley.

It was a great addition to my M1A I used to have. I couldn't dream of drilling into the gorgeous walnut stock, but I mounted a scope and needed a better cheek weld. This setup fit the build nicely. I'd highly recommend them if you haven't purchased one yet. Locks up solid, very adjustable, idiot-proof (a necessity for me), and doesn't harm your stock. Good news too if you mount to a wood stock, you can easily remove during storage as well. Also, worth spending a few extra $ to go the elite model. The fabric layer is a nice touch and feels good on the face, esp after a long range session. If you are still in the market I have one listed as well. Sold my M1A to a Marine that had to have it. https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/bradley-elite-series-adjustable-cheek-rest-od.267853/

Are the Bradleys ambidextrous and if not, do they offer a left hand version?
I tried contacting them from their website but got a message that I didn’t posses the appropriate privileges… what!???

They are ambidextrous. Holler if you are still in the market. Glad to sell mine to you or talk more about it. If interested, I linked to my listing on a previous post.

Can some one take a pic of the inside of their Bradley cheek rest? I got one used but i think its missing some foam on the inside that would prevent it from slipping in the stock.

Bringing this back up to ask a question to the Bradley users. I shot with one that I borrowed over the weekend. I liked it but found it to be pretty wide relative to the stock to the point I felt like I either had to tilt my head to align my eye or apply too much side pressure to the stock. Has anyone experienced anything similar with theirs? Is there an easy mod to make them thinner?

I was worried about that same thing before I bought mine. After a few practice sessions I didn’t notice it at all anymore and was able to get lined up pretty effortlessly

It will be a bit wider for sure. width and height are related--if you are having to cock your head to the side, it may be that you dont need it quite as high BECAUSE it's that wide. Try lowering it a smidge and it will likely be a more natural alignment for you. Also note that you can lower only the front end if the height you need is between holes--that creates a bit of a negative comb that also helps with recoil. I have one, it's great for what it is and I use it for loaner stuff, testing height on various rings, etc even though I dont regularly use it on any of my rifles anymore., If you find that you truly need a higher comb and the width is an issue for you, something more permanent or an aftermarket stock might be functionally a little better, albeit more investment, and you'll be able to quantify the height you need. For the tikkas in the original post the oem tikka CTR cheek riser is by far the best option, only problem is they are only available used. Bet someone on this forum with the ability to create a 3d print from one of those could do some brisk business...(**cough** @Unknown Munitions ??)

If going on a Tikka stock, its hard to beat the Victor. Drill 2 small holes, and screw it on. Now as someone else mentioned, I wouldn't drill into a mcmillian or some others, but a OEM tikka stock, absolutely. Has several spacers to get the correct height. Also very light, doesn't add much weight.
