So I've been looking for a nest for my Cimarron. I've researched a lot threads and post and decided to get one from Bear Paw Wilderness Designs. I called and talked to John and said I was looking at the Pyranet 2 but wanted to know if a half nest design was possible and he told me yes. So it came in today and like a kid with a new toy there I was in the backyard setting it up...
Here it is..

Tomorrow I'll set it up with the Cimarron.

Nice. What are the dimensions and weight? I know they are probably listed on the site but it's always good to get "actuals".

I'll post the exact weight and dimensions tomorrow.

Thanks. As you use it more, I'd like to hear how you like the door in that configuration or if you preferred it worked in a different manner.

I got the same one for my cimarron but with the inverted t zipper, makes it easier in and out no matter which side of the tent it's in

Cool setup.. Does it come with, or have a rain fly available?

BearPaw does make tipi/mid shelters much like the floorless shelters made by many other manufacturers. Mostly, these nests are used in floorless shelters when people are in buggy environments (or otherwise want the containment). For instance, I run a Seek Outside Cimarron floorless on hunts quite often. However, when camping with my girlfriend or when bugs are bad, I've used a nest like this which makes her comfortable.

So I finally put the two together.. Also thanks Luke Moffat for the Lineloc posts.. Definitely makes getting the shelter off the ground a lot easier! I'll be doing some backyard camping tonight with the kids.

Looks great man!!! Just got done using our Cimarron on a 4 day/3 night hiking/packraft trip. That Cimarron is sure tough to beat for the options and space/weight!

Hey guys, do you think the anchors that are about halfway up the sides of the nest and shelter are necessary? I am looking at a tipi shelter that doesn't have them and want to make sure the nest won't sag on me.

Thanks!
