Boyt H52SG hard case and pressure on optic

Greetings. How tight is too tight for a hard case with pressure on the optic? My rifle was shipped with a Boyt H52SG case and with the width of the Zeiss LRP S3, it feels like most of the pressure is on the windage/parallax turrets to the point where the case is pretty tough to close. It's egg crate foam on the bottom, and flat foam on the top. The good thing is the rifle isn't moving but I fear if the case is stacked or dropped on the side all pressure is on the turret. How tight is too tight? Debating if the case itself is wide enough. The parallax to windage is 4", the inside case is 4.5" - 1/4" of compressed foam on each side doesn't seem like enough

Depending on where I am going, I use a Tuff Pack or AirGlide case. There is plenty room around the rifle to pack clothing and support the optics.

1/4" of compressed foam on either side of the optic? Your case will flex more than that of dropped or stepped on.

I'd say it's too tight.
