Boy wants a sail boat…

There’s a book momma reads to him about a little make shift coffee can boat headed off and not coming back. Tom said he wants one.

So i figured i could get it done pretty quickly with garage stiff. Most of the afternoon and here’s the status. I refuse to quit or go to store. And this gal WILL sail next weekend. Fishing tomorrow.

Brother in law around the corner. He had some two part structural pour foam. Wish I’d had that yesterday.

Bleach bottle did not sail.

Did catch enough fish for dinner. Barely.

On the way home today it dawned on me that she’s going to want to come into wind, back up and then either cross the wind or go back to same tack…. Basically doing circles or short run before trying to do a circle.

I’m thinking I need to but a rudder on and tie it off with a little weather helm and trim sails about 3/4 the way in.

Looked into self steering mechanisms for models but I’m not up for all that.

I’m of the firm opinion we invented engines so we wouldn’t have to rely on the wind.

She said Sale today. It was pretty fun.
She actually sailed pretty straight and made good speed
