So I know a lot of you guys on here are training and getting ready for the 2014 hunting season so I thought Id throw this out there for the Denver area Roksliders who are wanting to get involved in a training program that may help motivate and challenge you. Every Tuesday and Thursdays Quick Draw Archery hosts a Bowhunting Workout Bootcamp that will not only help you get in shape but challenge you in the fitness department. Its put on by a Local Denver guy by the name of Josh starts at 5pm at Quick Draw Archery in Highlands Ranch. You compete against others in the class for best time and shooting throughout the hour.
They have a regiment if your a beginner or advanced level of fitness. They have you run with a Backpack on come back to the shop do some clever workouts that are changed each session then shoot rounds of 3d at 20 to 30 yards. This is a great way to get into shape and also practice your high stress shot placement.
The advanced sessions are brutal and will challenge even the fittest where the beginner sessions (usually half speed or physical requirements of the full) will get you into shape fast.
I will be starting with this in the next month to get ready for the 2014 hunt season. If you want more info on this you can call the Shop and talk to Chris or Dave.
There is a nominal entry for each session not sure what it is but I figured since Ive seen a lot of the talk about training to hunt programs and preparations this would be great for folks wanting to get in some place and get motivated and challenge yourself.
If your anything like me I need all the help I can get to get into shape and get ready for the hunt. I quit smoking recently after my little lung waterproofing sessions so this is my Phase 2 of getting ready for this year. I refuse to let the mountain kick my butt this year. =-)
