Bowhunting Elk in the Sawtooths 2017

so... I just scored a Sawtooth Zone Elk Tag in Idaho!!


I have hiked extensively there, but never hunted for elk/deer...

if anyone has knowledge of the area and wouldn't mind helping a rookie bowhunter, it will be much appreciated!!

I have done most of the backpacking trails from stanley, did the grand sawtooth loop, and also accessed the sawtooth wilderness through queens river trailhead. Not much luck...
Is pole creek an area with potential? I haven't been that way, not that I can remember anyways
