Just picked up a Mathews Traverse and am in the market for a case for a decent price. Any suggestions?

SKB Hunter Parallel Limb Bow Case, less than $200. I got mine for like $170 with the military discount, plenty of space, secure with a felt lining. Zero complaints.

How nice are you talking? The cheap double-pillar Plano works for me, it's kept it safe from small children using it as a footstool but I'd never fly with it in that thing.
Not flying or anything, just want something to protect it a tad better than a soft case.

Only problem with my Plano has been that the Mathews Q-Lite quiver interfered with the pillars. My solution was to take a box cutter and remove one of the pillars. There's still plenty of structural integrity but I wouldn't drive over it with a truck. I'm just using it for bump protection in my car and around the house since my kids are hard on nice things.

IM running this case for my traverse as well. Its not crazy durable for flight as mentioned above but its held up fine for me in general transport and hunting trips.

I use Plano cases for basic transport. Can't recall the model but, they hold the bow with quiver and arrows in place.

I'll third the Plano double pillar. Have used it for 4 bows now with no issues. Keep looking at SKB or other nicer ones, but won't be able to justify until I fly my bow somewhere.

I use a Pelican Vault V730 for my traverse. It works really well. It has wheels and is rectangular (helps with stacking or storing other things around it). May be a little overkill for what you need (from the sounds of it) but it is cheap insurance if you ever fly and you can bang it around with zero worries. Price is around 190-200. Also comes in different colors, if that matters at all.

I always ended up getting the Plano bow guard case. The Walmart in town used to carry them. After the bow season was over they would go on sale for around $25. But that was about 10 years ago.

I am looking at getting an SKBcase. Where do you get it with military discount?

Plano cases seem to be good. They are a hard case and protect my traverse pretty well. Mine is too bulky so I’m looking for a smaller one.

This. Beats any plastic hard case and it’s strong enough for airline travel
