Are the drop days scheduled?

This was the first one and yes it was scheduled. Not sure if they will do it again as they are experimenting with different ways of distributing the highly sought after stuff

How do these drops work?

My only experience was years ago in TX a store gave tickets out and you had to be present to win. 4 people showed and I was one of the 2 who didn’t get a bottle of pappy

You all have been picking up some great finds! Being in rural Kansas, it is difficult to find any store picks, or bottles above the standard weller line. I used to hunt pretty hard for the more allocated bourbons but have since given up chasing those ghosts and focus on finding store picks when I go out of town.

Yes sir.

The John J bowman single barrel is delicious. My bottle tasted like stewed apples and caramel, and it is sadly gone. I have a second bottle that hasn’t gotten opened yet. I’m still on the hunt for an A Smith Bowman cask strength. They both are buys when avaliable.

Disclaimer. All of my recommendations are at MSRP. I don’t pay more than that for whiskey and I never buy off the secondary as to not encourage bottle flippers.

John J Bowman is so underrated, but hopefully it stays that way so the MSRP stays at a great value and people don’t hoard it too much. I live about a mile from the distillery, thru often put it out in the gift shop for purchase. In addition Virginia ABC gets a fair amount for distribution in state so it’s not a unicorn bottle (although can still be hard to find in one of the stores).
