Bourbon

I am looking forward to your thoughts on those! I just polished off my OF King Ranch bottle.

Be forwarned. Im not a wheat lover.

I liked the weller full proof but was just meh on the 12 yr and 107 red.
I havent liked makers mark and have had 2 bottles I was told were very good.
I like makers in coke though.
The last wheaters I liked were lost lantern cedar ridge 100% winter wheat.

&

ASW singe barrel georgia heartwood

Which is curious as both are higher wheat percentages.

That makes two of us. I’ve given away most of my wheated bourbons. The traditional wheat notes do not jump out to me on the BH products.

I’m a sucker for a tater sticker on a SP.

I mean being a sticker tater is ok as long as you not a bourbon tater. First knob single barrel bottle I have gotten thats natural cask strenght vs proofed down to 120.

And for those that can read. Thats a 9.66 yr old single barrel for $65. Pretty good value IMO.

I've followed this thread since the beginning and totally get it.
I was a bartender at some high volume establishments for years in my 20's and that led to me owning my own bar/restaurant. I could have easily found myself with shelves full of exotic whiskies at my home bar and admire some of your collections. I love bourbon.
My journey has kept me on more of the brand loyalty trail of Jack Daniels since the early 90's. Not because it's the best but because I acquired a pallet for their small batch bottles. The rockstar outlaw stories of JD paired with nose candy are not a myth and somehow I made it through those decades without loosing my ability to legally own a firearm.
Older and debatably wiser, I've since switched to Wild Turkey Rare Breed. It's everything I like about bourbon.
I still venture into trying different bourbons but fall back to brand loyalty.
I've learned new things from some of your posts and applaud the dedication to American made whisky.

$65 for a bottle of poison that can kill you?
I think not, Scooter! 😉

The BT is a store pick that is much better than it should be. The other three are all good. Best to my palate is the Dueling Grounds red label.
