Bourbon

Had been looking for this one for a while. Initially was disappointed, after a couple days it was much better.

One of my all time favorites. My gunsmith/hunting pard goes out to VA every December for Christmas with family, and brings me one or two bottles back from Bowman depending on purchase limits. One would think he should get extra allocation since that’s his last name as well. Lol

I think I’m currently sitting on a 22, 23, 24 and 25 although the 22 might be gone now. If I stay up late tonight to watch the snow fall I might have a slash.

Alright I opened the birthday bourbon today for my birthday. It did not disappoint. I shared it with two other folks and they both had it at the top of their list for best pours.

I was wondering what to expect from the bottle at a lower proof point. It was extremely smooth and excellent. Black cherry and walnut nose, smooth butter scotch vanilla oak flavor and really delicate finish. I said to the other two that this almost doesn’t seem like I am drinking bourbon because of how easy it drank. This could be from the low proof point be we followed it up with a Ben Holladay 8 yr 125ish proof and that left us with wanting more OFBB.

If you do happen to find it a MSRP buy it!

Great to see them being used as intended, shared with friends and making memories. A buddy of mine went through the distillery tour and was selected for the random opportunity to purchase the same birthday bourbon. It was really good and we have a good story from that visit. I was glad he chose to open it versus flip it, there were other guests at the distillery that day that offered 3 times what he paid...

To this point I have not flipped a bottle. I have given opens to a friend if I did not like the bottle.

We also opened the EHT Barrel Proof B14 last night and also really enjoyed that pour.
