Bourbon

In my yearly ritual I have been drinking my bottle of Barrell New Year 2026. Its pretty delicious. I have had every year since 2023 and I havent been disappointed yet.

There was one on the shelf for a few minutes this morning at a Total Wine here in Kansas City…. $1799

I paid 1500 plus sales tax.

Nice collection! I recently opened my Seelbach’s 15 Year Buff Turkey…. great stuff in that bottle.

I have had all 4 seelbachs 15, plus some pro bottles that never saw the public, plus a couple other brands. Buff turkey is hands down my favorite. I have 6 or 8 different bottles of it on my bar. It was better then George T stagg for me personally.

That's interesting to hear. I have had to tell myself multiple times not to buy a 2025 GTS on the secondary. I'm glad to hear your thoughts on the Seelbach's vrs GTS.

The SB 15 bottle I have which is batch 3 has been shared with a hand full of my friends and they all agreed it was in the top tier of any bourbon they ever had.

Nice set up. It looks great and a lot of excellent choices! Glad to see so many open.
I like the saying "I don't have a collection, I have a selection" at least that is my method.

Thanks for the compliment.

I wish more were open but I get myself in trouble when I try and "sample" too many in a night.

I also vacation quite a bit and its easier if they are still sealed and most countries want them factory sealed if traveling internationally. It does feel weird to take tequila back to mexico though.

I do try to finish them one they get half or less as there are a couple articles about the whiskey going off if the bottle is less then half. This can only be avoided if you store your whiskey in a basement or cellar.

Most bottles get opened and split with a friend of mine and drank straight through.
