Have had all the versions of Pappy by the glass and not one of them made me want run out and pay 20x MSRP!

I hear ya! I’ve only had a couple by the glass, and really, I didn’t think the juice was worth the squeeze.

I gave them a bottle of Found North Goldfinch and a Found North Snow Day; never imagined they’d top that.

I’ll probably drink the whole thing on New Years, but tonight I’m having Barrell Dovetail.

I’m sure this thread is more for bourbons better drank neat…

But… if it doesn’t get me banned I Would be interested in some mixed drink suggestions that don’t involve sodas or a bunch of simple syrup.

Have a few bottles I’ve been lugging around that I don’t really enjoy neat and am looking for new ideas.

I really like to pour a couple ounces of one of my favorite bourbons like Stagg Jr or Weller FP. In a separate glass, I mix ice, mint, bitters, and a splash of cranberry juice.





Then I pour the separate glass out and drink the bourbon neat like a real man

Paper plane.

Take offending bottle of bourbon, dump out enough headroom and use it to make your paper plane mixer in and then toss in the fridge or freezer.

If my bourbon isn't from KY then its blasphemy and I ain't buying it.

I just bought a Bowman Bros bottle at the suggestion of the local pusher.
Buffalo Trace distillate aged and bottled in Virginia.
I'll be darned if it isn't a great sipping whiskey...Stands right up to many of the BT products.

Honestly, a favorite is to mix a couple fingers of bourbon into a cola. I'm addicted to Coke Zero or Cherry Coke Zero so those are typically what I have around.

Iced Tea is also a good one and a splash of a cinnamon schnapps on top really make that drink good.

Boulevardier is my go to. Basically just a Negroni but swap the gin for bourbon.

I have an earlier bottling of the Stagg barrel proof.
Might be a small pour of it tonight...And definitely neat.
