I was just blown away by how responsive and fast these guys and gals are. Here is my experience.
March 29th 11:02am Placed order for 8 boxes (all in stock), qualified for free shipping
11:04am I replied to my order confirmation email with an image of my FOID card because I don't live in a free state.
11:06am I get a reply asking for my Drivers License as well
11:12am I send in a picture of my DL
11:58am I get tracking information
March 30th 6:00pm UPS delivers the ammo

I am amazed at how fast they got this stuff shipped. Maybe I got lucky and maybe since they are only 4 hours from me that helped but holy cow, they beat Amazon.

I cant wait for Pheasant and duck season to try them out. They had a lot of offerings in stock and I don't think they have raised their prices yet with all this inflation going on. I would highly recommend stocking up now for the upcoming season.

Would either of you know if the 12ga 3" #5 regular copper plated would be suitable for turkey with an extra full choke or is it more of a waterfowl round? I know they have the turkey specific TSS stuff but there is no way I'm spending that much cash on turkey rounds.

I'm assuming you are looking at 1.5oz loads? That's plenty adequate for turkeys.

Yes that's what I was looking at. That's what my turkey loads are now. Just wasn't sure if anyone has ever patterned any with an extra-full choke. I don't know what wad they use or if it would even make that much of a difference really at 40 yards and under with a tight choke. That TSS stuff is nice, but I usually turkey hunt in fairly thick woods and like to call them in close. I haven't even had a chance to shot a bird of 30 yards in years. That TSS stuff patterns so tight at close range its almost like shooting a slug.

GWHunter-

Just be aware that thier regular copper plated shot is 9.6g/cc, lead shot is 11.34g/cc.

So if you are looking for a non-tox load, they will be better than steel and cheaper than TSS loads. A comparable load of lead or plated lead shot will pack more of a punch and be even cheaper yet.

My kids have killed a fair number of turkeys with Fiochii Golden Pheasant 3" #5's out of a 20 gauge with a modified choke, but that's strictly a 15-30 yard load.

I will say Boss's TSS turkey loads are looking pretty tempting. They are throwing more shot in thier 3" loads and charging the same or less $ than thier competitors.

Hey thanks, I didn't give a thought to the weight or look close enough at it to see that it was copper shot and not copper plated lead. Thanks for the heads up. I have enough rounds to get me and my dad through this turkey season. I usually shoot the Longbeard XR and meant to stock up in the off season but forgot until now. Now I can't find any. I'll remember this off season, but might try a box of the TSS stuff just to have one or two in the turkey vest to throw in if the situation warrants it.
