What gram thinsulate is best for the 2nd season rifle hunt in Colorado? Hunting in the Flat Top Wilderness between 9000-1100 ft.

I used a pair of Darn Tough hiking socks and my Asolo Drifters during 4th season this year and only had cold toes while we were stopped to glass. It didn't get above 10 degrees that day. YMMV but this was probably the coldest November we've had in a long time, I might have been a bit more comfortable with some insulation but that didn't stop me from getting a buck.

I wear some 400g when it gets colder. They work good for me, I get cold easy so I like warm feet when I'm sitting but not so much insulation to sweat my feet out while hiking.

I'd say 200-400 would be good, anymore than that and the boots start to get too bulky for me to do much hiking in.
