Hey all,

first post and I am trying to get gear together for a hunt next year. I have extremely flat feet and suffer plantar fasciitis as well. I am from Alabama so I don’t have as many choices around me for hiking boots. What are some good brand recommendations that could use in the Alabama heat while doing conditioning but work well in the cold also that won’t kill my feet. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

You need a good insole. I run two boots for cold and hot weather. Lowa Tibet and renegade it sole insoles work for me. Look at a place that has free returns or call lathrop and sons for a custom insole or boat. The insole in a good boot that fits your foot is better than what are good boots. The insoles can be moved from boots based on the weather.

Thanks guys for the replies so far. I’ll look in to your suggestions.

Would strongly suggest you visit a Podiatrist for professional advise. That said, my wide very flat feet prefer a stiff boot in the steep uneven country. By stiff I mean Scarpa Charmoz level stiff or similar.
