Book by Harry B. Combs
Brules: A Novel by Harry B. Combs is a Western epic about a man named Cat Brules, who seeks revenge against the Comanche nation after they murder his loved ones, leading him on a violent journey across the Old West from the 1860s to the early 20th century. The story, framed by an elderly Brules recounting his life to a young man in 1916, details his life as a plainsman, his skills as a tracker and shooter, and his experiences with the changing frontier, including the demise of the buffalo and Native American way of life.
The Haunted Mesa is a favorite of mine. For you Louis Lamour fans, I highly recommend "The Haunted Mesa" and "The Walking Drum." Neither one of those books are what you'd expect from him, but are very entertaining reads.
The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt is the other one. Outstanding trilogy.Blood and Thunder
