Bolt gun feed issues

This is probably a simple problem but I'm not exactly sure where to start. I assembled a 6.5 prc recently from a christensen stock I pickup up, a christensen barreled action, and christensen bottom metal. The issue I'm having is thats every time I run the bolt, the front of the round tips up to high and the round won't feed. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow but any direction would be appreciated.

I’m assuming this is a BDL setup? You most likely just need to tweak the follower spring and the feed lips on the internal mag.

Had a similar issue with a 308 I put together. The nose would stick up on the round causing the rear of the cartridge to be slipped over by the bolt. I had to bend open the mag box just slightly around the back so the rear of the cartridge wasn’t getting pushed down. I also flipped the follower spring around (ie side in the follower was changed to be in the bottom metal) as one side was shorter than the other, which allowed me to push the follower spring just a little further forward in the bottom metal.

Do one change at a time and go slow. It’s a bit of a pain as you’ll make a tweak, screw everything back together, test, then repeat the process a few times.

I’d call them and get an RMA to send it back in and let them figure out why their junk doesn’t work.

He made it sound like he cobbled together some christensen parts rather from other rifles rather than buy an assembled rifle. Would be hard to expect them to fix it in that situation.

The magazine box and follower for the prc may be different from 308/243, even though they are both for a short action.

I adjusted the spring and follower to put more pressure on the rear of the round but it still tips the front of the rounds up as soon as you put any rounds into it.

I think I figured it out. So, the box isn't long enough. It's a SA box but the tip of the rounds don't fit in. When you load a second round it tips because the tip gets caught.20230926_124954.jpg

Turns out, 6.5 PRC can work in a SA actions but some boxes aren't long enough. Wyatt box $26.
