Bleach teeth on a Euro mount?

I have a bear and a little muley that I plan to go my own euro mounts with. They are all cleaned up and drying in the garage. One thing that I'm debating is if I want to leave the teeth with their natural color and wear marks. On the bear, there is one tooth that has a cavity or some sort of defect that I find interesting and may be lost if the teeth are all bleached out. I can find plenty of photos showing mounts with everything bleached but I can't seem to find examples of how it looks leaving them with their natural color.

Anyone have any thoughts or examples on this? Worst case, I can always just leave the teeth and if I don't like the results, go back and bleach the teeth later.

I typically just brush the peroxide on them and whatever runs over the teeth I go with but don't do any extra.

I have Done a quite a few myself. I like the natural look. I simmer them in water with baking soda . Then Dry them then soak them in peroxide while leaving to teeth.

If the teeth Crack or fall out while simmering the water was too hot.

Deer teeth won't turn white, they will always have the brown unless you Dremel it off. Bears look way better with natural color teeth!

Thanks for the photos. Did you do those yourself or have them done? If you did them yourself, did you pull all of teeth?

Yep, did them by myself. I pull teeth and don't peroxide them. It is not easy though!

Gotcha. Most of the front teeth on the bear fell out or are pretty loose. I will have to use a little effort I think to get the molars out though. I'll see how it goes.

I use dental pliers and it still isn't easy and some won't come out depending on age of the bear.

Alright, digging this thread up with a couple more questions. I have the skulls "bleaching" now. I couldn't get some of the molars out without a ton of force so I just taped them.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions on a sealant/top coat. I've seen people mention using a lacquer flat or semi-gloss. Suggestions?

Also, I was thinking of doing the bear with the mouth open. I guess I could just glue it at the jaw but any tips on what works well for this?

I don't seal mine but did have the kids knock it off the wall and fixed it with Elmer glue it dried clear and held the nose pieces great. You could use it seal. Try it on the bottom of the skull and see what you think.

Drill, pin and then 5/15 minuteepoxy the bear jaw open at the back of the bottom jaw at desired angle with 2 small brass pins on each side. Only epoxy pins. Could use Elmer's white and could soak in water to undue the glue if wanted it undone.

I had a nice brown bear skull that was sealed and teeth didn't crack for 5 years, moved to a little drier place and all cracked. I ended up putting an almost excessive 15 minute clear epoxy on then to keep all pieces together and intact. Not ideal, but not alot of other options. Paranoid B-72 was original sealer on all skull and teeth- clear acrylic resin melted in acetone, works good . Also have used clear non-yellowing satin rattle can from hardware store. Seemed to work fine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the idea of the pins. Just need to find some.
