Blackovis 150G vs 250G Merino Hoodies

Guys I have the 150 and really like it for warmer weather. Size up unless you want it to fit like a body glove wet suit.

You guys that layer them. If glassing can the 150, and the 250 with a puffer keep you warm enough leta say at 30 degrees with slight wind. For someone that runs warm. I usually do the base layer and a poly pullover, then puffer.

For the situation you described above, if I was wearing a 150 long sleeve, a 250 hoodie, and my Lost Park, I’d be more than warm in 30 degrees. But....i often wear my Lost Park with nothing but a cotton T-shirt under it in 35 degree temps here at home. So I may not be the best reference.

I'd think you'd stay warm enough that way. K know I would be with that combo. Especially if you got the Keele hoody. That thing is warm.

If it’s in the 30’s and I’m glassing I’ll wear
the 150 tshirt
The keele-heavy weight
And a puffy coat WITH a hood.
If it’s windy, I’ll add a rain jacket if the puffy can’t handle the wind.

I add the rain coat too. Just didn't know if the 250 could replace the poly pullover. Thanks everyone for the input.

It’s funny everyone says size up...

The clothes I’ve gotten from Blackovis run either true to size or big

Now I do run between sizes large and medium generally (big chest, short torso). Have the 150 and 200 base layers in large and both fit like a large, I’d say a little big which is in the normal realm for me. Basically true to size, definitely not small. I considered going medium with the 200gr

Conversely I ordered a sweatshirt in Large and it is enormous, just ridiculously baggy and hangs to my thighs. Then I got a medium and it fits perfectly

I think this is very subjective depending on how each person likes their clothes to fit. I wear an XL in the merino tops, but I like my tops very snug and form fitting. I’m 5’11 and 218 pounds with a 52” chest and a 33” waist. I prefer the “body glove” look for my base layers. I think some may feel this type of fit is restrictive, especially if they have extra “padding” around the mid section.

I am 6', 210, 33" waist not sure chest i would say broader than normal and the 150 xl feels like it is holding my shoulders and armpits in place...ok around waste but its pretty tight in chest and shoulders. I also never dry any of my hunting clothes so I know it didn't shrink.

Sure clothes fit is subjective. But as someone who buys both larges and mediums depending on fit and size variability between brands, my experience is that their base layer large is a true to size large. I would contend people prefer their base layers to fit either tight or true, and not baggy

I have both of them. The 150 hoodie is awesome, I love the blended fabric, super comfy. The 250 is great as well especially for cooler weather. For what you're looking for I'd go 150..... or just get them both
