Thats what my initial thought was, but the curvature of the toes themselves seem more griz than black bear. But thats a bad muddy picture.Claws seem too close to the toes to be griz imo
Yea but its still a smudged muddy mess. There's a print, with a pad, toes and claws. Can't really say why you can't see it. I can clearly
Bro, your getting snooty and acting offended that its not a great picture. Its difficult to be certain which bear made the track because its smudged. If it was a crystal clear picture there would be no doubt as to which bear it is.Next time I'll make sure I get there early and place formed plaster cast with 2 rulers for length and width with directional instructions on how exactly to place his foot. Oh stupid me I was moose hunting and didn't have a backpack full of track plasting equipment.
That appears to be the hind foot of a black bear in deep mud that put a lot of weight on his toes and claws to move forward with his stepFound this track a couple hundred yards from the cabin while moose hunting interior Alaska. It was fresh, within 24 hours, in the middle of the 4 wheeler trail. Brother says maybe black, I say griz, what say you. Pad is about 6" long for reference View attachment 937684
Dude, you should go back and re read the posts. Either you've been drinking, or you are mistaking someone else's response for mine....good luck on your thread.Dude I never said the picture is good. In your first text you said there was nothing there but mud when clearly is a print. Then you went on to say it's a muddy mess. 2 negative texts in a row. I believe your texts were nothing but negative, how did you want me to response? Gee thanks for the negative response? Generally someone would say " tough to say, the print isn't the best quality." I only asked their thought with the only evidence I have does it look like one or the other. I don't want to get in an argument here. Simply asking from people that generally have more knowledge in this subject than i if what they thought what it was. Not what you replied there's no print there and it's a muddy mess. Well no shit it's in mud. I might be a little short sorry, just traveled 20 hours back from Alaska and having tag soup for dinner
All I see is mud.. maybe there is a print of some kind but who knows...
I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't know a grizzly print from a black bear print. But that print looks fairly good to me as far as seeing it.If you can't see a print in that pic you must be one terrible tracker.
