My setup and load. CVA Optima V2 50 cal Long Range muzzle loader. Topped with a Leupold Ultimate Slam 3x9x40mm muzzle loader scope. My load 84grs of blackhorn 209 by weight. With a Hornady 250gr SST bullet. I have killed several deer with the load. How do u think it will preform on a bear? I have killed deer out to 200 yds. And your experience muzzle loader hunting bears. My muzzle loader shoots very well with bullet powder combo.

Bear don't seem to be any tougher than deer when it comes to getting hit with a bullet. I would want to carry a sidearm if legal if going after bears with a muzzleloader.

Although bear may not be somewhat as tough as other game it seems like a muzzy doesn’t put critters on the ground as easy as a rifle. Bear hair can absorb blood so may be hard to track, especially in areas like Alaska with tall, thick cover where it can rain a bunch.

I would keep those factors in mind before taking a shot in country and weather (rain), picking a bullet and load, and distance of shot.
