Black Bear Anotomy

I arrowed my first bear behind the shoulder, not knowing any better. That was the most blood I've ever seen in my life to this day and it went for a long ways. Eventually jumped him down in a drainage and the blood petered out. Never found him. I got it on video. The shot and blood trail but won't let me post it here. I'd love to know exactly what I hit. I hit em back now! They go down easy.

Off topic but I shoot axis forward and quartering away with an arrow. Supposedly most exotic/African species have their vitals right up in the brisket. It was much harder to train myself to shoot tight to the shoulder since I hit whitetails back a little in the lungs. Got to remind myself to go back on a bear too though. Shooting a whitetail is instinctive (for me).

here is what the finnish hunters are using and they need to train as well with blank target. it is for grizzly but that is a good start.
