We were in Yellowstone on the 9th. All we saw were bulls. Not a single cow or calf. Bulls were everywhere.

They wont tell us when theres any number of other serious events, but a bloke getting sent flying by a bison....... gotta tell the people

Its 100% what you get used to vs the fear of the unknown.
Our snakes don't really scare me despite being significantly more dangerous, but a rattlesnake might actually make me myself.

I don’t get it

It may be because they aren't around wild animals enough to recognize the behavior. They see a buff thrashing around and rolling all over the ground and they think he's playing because their Golden Retriever at home acts that way. A hunter who's familiar with wild animal behavior immediately recognizes that's not playing, he's hopped up on testosterone and ready to fight.

When I used to work as a fishing guide the sports would see a Moose and inevitably want me to get the boat closer. I'd have to tell them that ain't Bullwinkle and he isn't nearly as entertained with you as you are of him. They simply had zero concept of how fast and aggressive a wild animal like that can be if you get too close and they decide to attack.
