Bipod recommendations

Carbon shooting sticks weigh less than the bog and are faster to set up, so that argument don't fly. And they make a good hiking pole.... or bungie them up like a sling.

I bet they would and my bog sticks are great for that too. More than anything, just going for self containment. I use my trekking poles as shooting sticks in the elk woods and they work great for that. I could do that here and have the same benefits you mention too. Just looking for something different to try and see how I like it.

Have you looked at the Wiser Precision Quick-StiX connector piece for trekking poles? I just ordered it and am curious to see how it does. I like the idea because you can still have a short bipod on the rifle, or even spread the poles wide enough to go prone, but tall enough to shoot seated. Lightweight. When I'm hiking, I want the poles anyway in case I need to pack a load out. They make an adapter for ARCA or Pic connection too.

Have you looked at the Wiser Precision Quick-StiX connector piece for trekking poles? I just ordered it and am curious to see how it does. I like the idea because you can still have a short bipod on the rifle, or even spread the poles wide enough to go prone, but tall enough to shoot seated. Lightweight. Currently using Hatch bipod. It works prone and extends far enough where I used it seated for my mule deer shot. I also have their third leg which converts it to tripod for glassing or shooting.

You can leave a bipod attached with vanilla shooting sticks, too. And you can put the Wisers on carbon cow-pokers, not just hiking poles....

I love my Gen 1 hatch bipod for calling. It’s just handy to leave it on the rifle for my trek to my stand. I got the 27” model and it’s plenty for seated shooting in 95% of situations. If I set up on a side hill I have found the need to slightly slouch over to shoot straight across. No a deal breaker though.

It’s also very quick to deploy and adjust.

Me too, looking forward to getting a generation 2 I switch mine back-and-forth between three different rifles

I have owned and can recommend both the Tricer RP and Hatch. Choose depending on price point and desired weight/specs

I currently just use two Tricer's since they are lighter weight and more affordable

The tricers do have the drawback of infinite panning, but can be fixed by pinning the joint
