I'm going to put a bipod on my x bolt hunter 300 win mag. Seems a lot of bipods require pic mount. This is not the Max X bolt, bought in august, 2024. Any ideas on inexpensive pic mount for bipod on this gun? I'm still researching which bipod to go with, and will probably try to find a used one on here.

If you buy a tricer it'll come with an adapter to use the typical swivel and turn it to a pic rail. There's better adapters out there....but if the tricer fits your stock contour it's pretty slick.... if not, they're not expensive.

The harris 27" is a good value that attaches to a swivel. I even ran it to good effect in NRL last year.

I like the taller options. A prone only bipod is useless where ive hunted.

After reading your reply, I sent Tricer an email asking if the adapter would fit. Answer came back that the x bolt was on their list as not compatible. Tricer is on my short list.

I agree, but most of my hunting is guided on private land. I use a bog deathgrip for anytime I'm sitting or standing. Only really need bipod for prone shots. I'm definitely considering Harris. Thanks

Sitting/kneeling, bipod front with tripod rear would be my go to if I had both.

Im not sure how where you hunt is relevant. I never could see over the grass when prone on my private spots. Throwing down a pack is hard to beat for really low prone.
