Hello, I've been searching the forums here for a little bit now and decided to join, thanks everybody for all the great info on this site!! I currently have vortex diamondback 8.5x binos and I don't know what it is about it, but I really like the power. I ordered a demo pair of maven c series 10x42 and have been trying them out, I really like the binos but I am having trouble liking the 10x, they exaggerate my movement so much more and it seems to give me a headache quickly. I live and hunt in the rolling plains of South Dakota and 99% of what i do is hunt md. I bought a vortex razor 11-33x50 spotting scope that will be here in a day or two. You folks think I'd be crazy to stay with 8x binos with a small spotting scope like this handy to always get a better look or am I crazy for not doing the 10x? I know they make them in 8x, I just felt like I should go back up to a 10x and am second guessing it now, thanks!

I doubt that the power has anything to do with them giving you a headache. Try a different brand or model.

10x on a tripod and you’ll ditch that spotter too.

I frequently hunt with 8s here in NV. I only use 10s when they'll be on a tripod. Hell I even have a pair of 7s that I use sometimes.
