I just purchased the Zulu 9 15x56 and the obective lense covers are horrendous. They sometimes take a full minute to get on and they pop off easily. Protection of the lenses are a hig priority for me so If I don't find an alternative I plan to return the bincoulars. It'd be an easy alternative if I planned to run them in a bino harness but I do not.. ever. Any one have a good alternative for protecting the lenses? They will be going in and out of a pack and on a tripod for glassing. A rain fly or something might work but I worry about the fabric of the fly being somewhat abrasive on the lenses. I did find some possible lense covers on Amazon but we'll see if they work. The barrel on the zulu 9's are not continuous but have a bump not far from the end and the barrel's rubber armor is also flexible so it adds to the complications of something aftermarket working.
