Bino harness " chestpack" ?

My AGC don't have room in the pouch for glass AND pistol. Sometimes I stuff my commander in the mesh pouch on back, but the grips aren't fully hidden.....

I thought the larger one had a secondary inner pocket/sleeve inside.

Hmmm

I personally like the Rick Young the best. I am trying a neoprene cover from Wilderness Pack Specialties, they sell for like 12 bucks. Plus I can open it with only one hand. So far I like it, very simple and light weight.

I just picked up an AGC X50 to protect my new Vortex Vipers. I've only ever used the simple suspender type of vino strap before. I did feel the AGC was a bit bulky on the one hike I've worn it but I really like it otherwise and figure I'll get used to it. What I didn't like about the suspender strap was having my binos bounce off my chest or dangle in brush when crawling. I didn't find the opening of the lid to be a hassle at all. I'll have to take it to the range next time I shoot my bow to see if it interferes.

I'm not much for changing my setups so I'll probably stick with it if I decide I like it.

I tried a couple of them and I didn't like the bulk of the case on my chest. I already carry too much stuff and the last thing I need is something else to carry. I think they all stick out to far and are too bulky.

I like my binos snugged right up against my chest with a bino strap.

Give it a chance, personally really like the simplicity of it. I like to wear mine high and a little tight, prevents the glass from bouncing. Goodluck with it.

Seems to be a very personal thing. For the size to capacity ratio, I didn't like the AGC CUB so I switched to a Hill People Gear Kit Bag. Now I find myself eyeing the Black Ovis AGC hybrid harness. It's all personal preference I think.

How many guys have bought them only to end up unhappy with the setup and gone back to a simple neck strap or bino "suspenders"?

I used to use the "suspenders" type of harness for one hunt and found that my glass gets dirty very quickly, unless I am constantly removed and replacing the covers. This gets to be a pain and eventually those covers would wear out.

I purchased a AGC and immediately liked it. I have been a several hunts and found that the bulk is simply not there when I draw a bow, hold a rifle, or even hike around a lot. The adjustability is what really sold me. The biggest thing though was the way I did not have to have any caps anywhere on the binoculars. I simply drop the binos into the pouch and I am done. It is much quicker and easier for my purposes and keeps the glass surfaces much cleaner. To me, it just does not make sense to spend the amount of money that we do on glass only to then have them covered in dust, otherwise, you are constantly cleaning them with lens cloth and such, which degrades the coatings over time.

My humble recommendation is that if you invest in a good pair of binoculars, invest in their protection and get yourself a good chest harness that covers the entire binocular and properly seals them from the elements. Just my two cents.

I have tried a few different ones and prefer the Kuiu. It is lower profile than the other harnesses w/ pocket that I have used. The Rick Young setup is nice if you do not need the protection.
