Draw results are out and I pulled a bighorn tag in the Canadian Rockies. Looking for some advice on what habitat to focus on for bighorns. I’ve hunted stone sheep and tend to find them well above treeline. Are bighorns the same or do they tend to spend more time at or below treeline? Also wondering how tightly tied to water bighorns are, the areas I have hunted stones water has always been plentiful. Lastly, should I focus on more rolling mountaintops or the larger more rugged mountains.

I should have a better idea after I get a few scouting trips in but just putting out some feelers.

Congrats on the tag and good luck. My experience with RMBHS, was the rams hung out at the tree line, going back and forth. But were mostly out above tree line until they were bumped or harassed to many times. Then moved into timber just below tree line. Lambs and ewes were almost always above tree line.
