Goll dang, Bigfoot showed up on the forum... I'm slightly disheartened that my iPhone just autocapitalizes Bigfoot all by itself...

Pretty sure in my younger years, got drunker than shit once, ( which wasn't unusual, that pretty much happened on any of the dictionary days back then..), woke up in a tent across the river with what I,m mostly convinced was quite probably a Bigfoot. Or a Yeti,s cousin. Or something.
Anyways, I managed to escape, mostly unharmed, 'cept for some residual emotional scars..
Never did see that beast again...

You never know what can exist out there. I just posted on the thread "Campfire stories" a few of these things, but reading what Ray posted is pretty crazy!

I have a SF buddy who swears to christ he saw one in western NC during a land nav training exercise. Listening to him tell the story made the hair on my neck stand up.
I live in the piedmont of NC. I spend alot of time hiking Western Carolina. Hiking the Black Mountain Crest Trail I've ran into more then four groups of hikers, maybe nine people all together who all claim they've had an encounter with an upright standing hairy animal that trail that they thought to be bigfoot.

The National Bigfoot Research Org. came to my county a while back to look mostly on the public lands.... poor guys/gals. It was better people watching when the carnival comes into town.... and those folks cook meth.

they got excited when they found swaths of brush bundled and neatly stacked out in the remote woods on some private land... they claimed that's what bigfoot would do. Turns out the landowner had just been treating an invasive specie and didn't have the heart to tell them.

Check out the book "Missing 411" about how many people go missing in our national parks. Very interesting stuff. And scary too. Not saying it definitely has stuff to do with "the big fella", but it does raise questions about strange stuff occurring in the wilds.

People who say they have seen any of the mythical creatures are just full of BS plain and simple. They tell the stories because there are suckers everywhere who will buy into it.

I think most of them tell the stories because they believe them. They have an experience that scares them and by the time they get back to "civilization" they have convinced themselves that it had to be Bigfoot or some other such nonsense. The imagination is a terrible thing to waste.

Pretty amazing all of the first hand accounts of near death experiences I hear about with mountain lions in the Black Hills. There has never been a documented attack here but the number of close encounters, near misses etc is off the charts.

I declined the "encounter"...I just don't lean that way but you go ahead. Fred would love to meet you. He's not into manscaping though so....

I don't know about bigfoot (besides my own size 14's) but if you ever want to scare the living shiz out of yourself so bad you contemplate never going back in the woods, read "Missing 411" by dave paulides. Its all 100% documented and scary as phack!

The Missing 411 books will scare you. The guy who wrote them was a detective and does some pattern analysis in regards to people who have vanished in national parks and wilderness areas. Spooky shit.

These folks make some great shirts and hats with Montana and 406 predominate since the 406 is the only area code for Montana. Hope that never changes. They also have some great Bigfoot shirts, hats, window stickers, etc and the prices are good. They don't jack the prices up and are a local Montana family owned store.

My sister-in-law calls me Bigfoot because I'm kinda big, gangly, and sometimes clumsy hunting the hills and hiking. I got two of the window stickers and put them on the back window of my pickup, one on eather side just for laughs. The stickers are excellent quality and are holding up very well a lot of those that I've seen. Sent her and her husband each a Bigfoot shirt also, and got my wife a 406 Montana shirt.
You might go on-line and check it out.
