The guy rents lamas ? So the guy really does backcountry hunt with lamas and I would guess has some success and then goes and shoots a high fence elk and tries to pass it off as a diy public land bull of a lifetime... why !? How is what he was doing not good enough that he feels the need to create an elaborate hoax to embellish his reputation ? At the risk of bring everything he's ever done into doubt and the total destruction of his credibility ! I really don't understand this guy.

No lamas for me but sometimes it would be awesome.

This kind of thing perpetually amazes me. I don't understand it. I enjoy seeing pictures of people's animals. I enjoy their stories. It entertains me and feeds my daydreaming, spurring me on to keep working to make my trips happen, but I'm not going to get a wyohighcountry tattoo or poster or something.

What do guys like this hope to get out of their scams? A TV show? Do they really think that their cameraman, the lower paid hands at the high fence ranch and their girlfriend will keep the secret forever?

And what about their conscience? Who gives a crap about what some faceless guy on the internet thinks? What about themselves? Do they look at that mount and remember fondly the bullcrap yarn that they spun about that "hunt"? I'd think that mount would be like Poe's Telltale Heart, hanging on the wall, shouting "You're a Douchebag!!" louder and ever louder each day.

I don't think it's social media that's the problem, Nick. I think the problem is his trying to overcompensate for some insecurities or lack of self esteem.

I kind of feel sorry for this guy. He just doesn't get what hunting is all about. The people who hunt for fame or notoriety, or that measure the success of a hunt based on the taking of a trophy animal, are doing it for the wrong reasons. It's too bad that these types of people don't get enjoyment and satisfaction out of the whole experience, like the rest of us do, whether we fill our tag or not.

Just like most over weight hunters wear First Lite so they can feel good about themselves with the sizing chart.

When First Lite first came out they were way off on sizing...to the small side. A large in their first gen Kanabs wouldn't fit anyone over a 32 waist and that's being generous.

Bingo!!! Don't get me wrong. I'm looking looking to fill my tag and I want to put it on a bigger animal than I've killed in the past or under different parameters, but that's for my personal reasons. I have no need to impress anyone.

He pulled his website and I haven't seen a word in defense so far. If it's not true he hasn't done anything to challenge the accusations. It would be nice for the hunting community as a whole if his story was true and this tured out to be a false accusation.

after i returned from a tough solo hunt 3 years ago with a 5x5 my neighbor bragged about the bull he got that was a big 6x6. ' i just set my beer on the dash and shot it right out the window' and never had to touch it. boy he was ragging on me. he is my age and dont do social media.

this is a guy that is not allowed to hunt Colorado or Canada because of violations.

so these types abound -social media or not. at 67 if i go again i am probably just the camp wrangler, but it has been a hell of a ride so far.

most, not all, but most of those people constantly posting big game and big fish pics are doing it for purely the notariety and attempt at fame and being a celebrity sportsman. some are merely doing it to push getting sponsored by some sporting goods company. most, not all, but most of them lost sight of what hunting and fishing truly means and all they care about is becoming the next syndicated tv show.

Innocent until "proven" guilty? The lynch mobs are as bad as the perpetrators.......when it turns out that they really were innocent. Just saying. I have no information on this guy or what happened. But people tend to pull their media and isolate regardless of their guilt when they are being attacked........i.e. The dentist that shot Cecil.

Dang some of you guys are crazy. I posted it because I thought it was funny. The video of the hunt is very comical and looks very fake but the whole scenario is funny. He didn't break any laws so people shouldn't get super mad it's just funny.
