Big Agnes lost ranger

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody as any feedback on the big agnes lost ranger 15 bag. thanks in advance.

Love this bag. Reason being, I love the amount of room it has for the upper body to feel free, I can't stand mummy bags.

I wouldn't call it a 15 degree bag though, more like 25-30.

I love mine, especially with the pad-sleeve system. Lots of room to turn around without getting twisted up (I'm 6'2", 230), comfortable for sleeping on your side, chest, etc. However, I would echo the above comment about the temp rating--I've spent quite a few freezing nights in overrated bags, and I think this one would be pretty chilly below 30 degrees (although I didn't get too much cold weather experience with it.

Thanks guys, the sleeve for the sleeping pad is what really interests me, i hate sliding off my pad in the night. And im also not a fan of mummy bags. How is this bag for backpacking? Does it compress pretty small? I know its not the lightest bag out there.

I used this bag for few years. Awesome bag with a lot of room that packs small. I agree with more of a 25 deg rating. I can go to lower temps with the Zirkel 20 than I did with the LR.

No complaints here. It is a great bag for persons with a broad chest and wide shoulders. I have been in the bag when it was in the high 20's and snowing. I did have on wool base layers and a beanie, sleeping in a tent it was perfect.

I have a 0 deg Storm King, which is also part of the Classic line. It has become my go to bag.

I just noticed they are using a treated down...called downtek. I think that is new since I got mine in 2011....

Big Agnes Introduces DownTek™ Water Repellent Down Bags

Big Agnes will change the future of the sleeping bag market by introducing new insulation and construction technologies in down and synthetic sleeping bags at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. Many of the company’s down bags will now contain DownTek™ water repellant down while key new synthetic bags will include Pinneco® Core™, a cutting edge synthetic insulation exclusive to Big Agnes.

Big Agnes will include DownTek™ water-repellant down into eleven of its 2013 sleeping bags. Incorporating nanotechnology and a proprietary application process, DownTek™ transforms down into a water repellant, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial insulation material. Even in the wettest of conditions, DownTek™ repels water while maintaining loft, insulation value and breathability.

“DownTek™ opens new doors for down insulation,” says Daniel Guigui, President of Big Agnes’ down supplier Down Decor. “Water repellency will allow down bags to go virtually anywhere. We’re excited about future applications of DownTek™, and our partnership with Big Agnes is a great start.”

Have one too. You will freeze your butt off if it actually gets to 15 degrees, but it's great for most early season hunts down to high 20's or low 30's. I am somewhat of a cold sleeper though. Love the comfort of the BA system. Always hated true mummy bags. I think it is a great balance of weight, warmth, and cost.
